ABC is looking for individuals of all shapes, sizes, and colors to design collections and walk the runway. We want any and everyone interested to sign up to be part of the fashion show. No experience needed, gender unimportant. There is a google form that interested individuals can fill out to give us some insight into who they are and why we should pick them to be a part of the show.

Global Issues Colloquium

Thursday, February 21st
at 7 pm MG 2001
Presented by Taner Edis (Truman, Physics)

A revolt against expertise: pseudoscience, global right-wing populism, and post-truth politics

This is a golden age for conspiracy theories, science denial, and deep suspicion of claims to expertise. Very often, the political context for this revolt against expertise is provided by increasingly powerful right-wing populist movements. Simple reaffirmations of elite forms of expertise, however, overlook how modern liberal politics too often demands public passivity toward sources of information—submission to technocracy rather than democratic participation. Furthermore, some favored forms of elite knowledge claims, such as popular schools of economics, are self-serving or have questionable legitimacy by academic standards. Our “post-truth” moment is in part due to elite incompetence, rather than just being an eruption of irrationality.

Meet & Greet with Dean of ATSU Dental School

atsu dentistry
A.T. Still University is hosting an exclusive event for pre-dental students and we want you there!

The Dean of the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Dr. Dwight E. Mcleod, wants to host an Open House event for pre-dental students in the surrounding region.

The event is scheduled for February 27, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Kirksville Missouri campus (800 West Jefferson St. Kirksville, MO 63501), in the Interprofessional Education building. We have a limited number of spaces for guests to attend the event and food will be ordered, so we ask that students complete this form if they plan to attend so we can plan accordingly.

The schedule for the event includes a Dean's Welcome from Dr. Dwight McLeod, an overview of MOSDOH's program and curriculum from faculty, time to chat and ask questions with current MOSDOH students, application tips, a clinic tour, and food! This open house will be an exciting way for students to learn more about the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health and see first-hand, the outstanding facilities that our students do their training.
